Ho Boyo…what a crazy couple of months. Travels, music, and a new record is FINALLY AVAILABLE !!! January started with a bang, a trip to Israel, gig there with Basya Schechter, and much coffee. February continued with other gigs in and out of town, a valentine’s day concert. March had a house concert, Purim madness with Storahtelling and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence... and April's ain't even started yet.

But come on out on April 30th for The Amazing Frozen String Quartet’s Record Release Extravaganza !!!!

At the Bowery Poetry Club, with many friends, great music, great folks, and the opportunity to take home a beautiful shiny new CD, with cover art designed by the inimitable Julie Meslin.

More details about who our special guests will be very soon, and more info to follow. Stay tuned!!

DECEMBER 10, 2007

Greetings! It's a busy month for me, luckily of all good things. Many performances in and out of town with my own projects and others. Highlights include a recent trip to Cleveland on December 4th, and my upcoming gig at Southpaw on December 22.

I’m also working hard, planning for the future, booking through the spring, and prepping for the release of “The Amazing Frozen String Quartet”, which will be available before the end of the year.

I’m also looking forward to going to KlezKamp, a workshop for klezmer music and Yiddish culture during Xmas week; a trip to Israel with my family from Jan 1-10 (with the added bonus of a couple performances with Basya Schechter while I'm there); and the Limmud Conference over Martin Luther King Day weekend, where I'll be presenting lots of music and teaching.

Whew…lots coming up in the near future. And I'm excited to reflect it back in song. Anyway, thanks for reading, and enjoy the music !

Avi Fox-Rosen just might be all things to all people. He just might. Or he might not. He insists that he is, though, and his track record only supports this claim.

Hello and welcome to my new site!!

You might be able to gather that the site still needs some touching up around the edges, but it is SOOO close to done, and so much more attractive than my previous site, so it’s up, with warts and all for your enjoyment.

What’s new, you ask ?

well- lots actually. My first record “One”, is out and has attracted some wonderful reviews. (you can check em out at the press tab above).

The Amazing Frozen String Quartet record is ready to go, and is just waiting for the okay from my accounting division til it gets pressed and released. (translation- I’m broke. I’ll press the CD when I have some more cash. haha. money. yay.)

The release series at Googie’s Lounge, the club with the stupidest name to best vibe ratio I’ve yet encountered, was a wonderful affair, with some great contributions by my brother Benjy and Patrice Blanchard on bass, Matthias Kunzli and Satoshi Takeishi on percussion over the course of the engagement. Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed the music, and those who brought home a record!!

what’s in the works, you ask ?

several things- booking NYC shows. planning for Philly + Boston shows. returning to the Bunker Studio soon to record a single track, should be something completely different…keep you posted. and- rock. yes rock. expect a bit more electric guitar in the future. grrr.
